Happy Holidays

We hope everyone had a nice Christmas! It was hard being here on the west coast and not with our families. Next year will be extra special though because we will have our little boy to help us celebrate.
I am 37 weeks pregnant today. We had another Doula appointment this week which was great. Amy has helped us totally prepare for the birth and postpartum period. Her knowledge and support wash away all of our anxieties and help us feel excited. My birth plan is done and the hospital already has a copy of it in my file. Working with Amy and the great midwives at St. Luke's has made us feel more secure about laboring at home as long as possible. I plan to labor at home until I am well into active labor or hopefully about 6 or 7 cm dialated. My midwife is totally supportive of this and doesn't want me to come in until I am having intense contractions every 3 minutes that last 1 minute for at least an hour. They will set up the tub and futon on the floor of my labor room once I get there.
So now we are just playing the waiting game. Everything is set up for our little one's arrival. Amy thought my belly looked lower, but it is hard for me to tell since I have been carrying so low this entire time. I have been running to the bathroom more at night, so that might be a good sign that he is lower and pushing down on my bladder :) Sourav is on vacation all of next week so it will be nice to rest together and spend some quality time before the baby comes. We are still managing to go on long walks up and down the san francisco hills almost everynight. Maybe some extra long walks this week will bring on labor!
